People come to therapy when they feel anxious, overwhelmed, and restless. In the face of heaviness and uncertainty, it’s difficult to know where to start or how to move forward, and the question “Will I ever feel better” resonates daily.
Therapy helps you feel better by uncovering your innate strengths and empowering you to heal and move forward. Therapy allows you to feel heard, safe, and relieved. It helps you learn about yourself in a safe, affirming space and champions positive change. Therapy teaches you what healing looks like for you and allows you to discover your definition of happiness in a space of true acceptance.
I hold space for emotional expression and healing in a safe space created by authentic connection and positive regard. I help people acknowledge the origins of their harmful narratives and empower them to take control of their lives and see themselves as capable, strong and whole.
Our mutual goal will be to define a life where you are more comfortable in your own skin, connected to yourself, and feel fully safe and secure in your life path. We will work together to ensure you accept yourself but still feel supported; calm yet empowered.
My Approach
My approach is warm, empathic, and client-centered. I use authenticity and humor to connect with those that I work with and ensure that our work together is moving at a pace that is comfortable for my client. Along with empathy and understanding I provide motivation and accountability as I value the progress of my clients. I am also very practical and straight-forward, a trait I attribute to my experience as a psychiatric nurse. I create a safe, welcoming space for my clients to express themselves and heal.
I support my clients in developing self-awareness, self-esteem, and self-worth by helping them recognize patterns of thinking and behavior, understanding the “Why.” This will lead us to the rewarding work of recognizing unique strengths, paving a path forward in the healing journey.
I provide gentle support while we explore the past, and the patterns and experiences that influenced you. Our goal will be to make movement forward with a new and empowered perspective. We will work on freeing you from the external narrative and expectations that you may feel have been placed on you and teach you to lovingly embrace and accept yourself. We will work with creative and innovative ways to manage your stress, meet your goals, and express yourself fully.
